This service station at the intersection of US 83 and US 66 in Shamrock, Texas has been an art deco landmark for generations.  Known variously as the Tower Station, Tower Cafe and/or U-Drop-Inn, it stands at the crossroads of two of America’s most storied highways.

In the undated photo above (from the collection of Joe Sonderman) we see it still in use in the 1970s, but showing the effects of years of neglect.  Vacant in the 1990s, the property was later purchased and restored to its original 1936 appearance (as seen below in a 2006 photo by Clifford Steeds.)  The Wikipedia entry about this landmark building is an especially good one.
