British Railways – modernised train buffet car, c1957 by mikeyashworth on Flickr.

From an article issued in 1957 on modernising British Railways catering – a very contemporary look with the steward carefully pouring a beer and a couple looking as if they’re about to be very modern – Babycham and a Lyon’s Individual Fruit Pie I suspect….

The Canadian Pacific holiday train stopped atop the Tunkhannock Viaduct (aka Nicholson Bridge) in Nicholson, Pennsylvania on November 26, 2011. Photo by Eric Williams.
Original caption: “Spreading its holiday
message and cheer, the CP Holiday Train stops on the massive Tunkhannock
Viaduct for a 10-minute show of its lights and horn blowing. The town
had waited hours in anticipation of this event with parties and music
filling the valley. About 100 on-lookers came to the cemetery, split
between locals and fans, to watch and appreciate the message that CP
graciously provides to communities along its route.”
